How It’s Done

The best part of having your concrete floor coated by Diamond Coatings is that the preparation for the coating will involve completely removing any cracks, pits, or other imperfections in the surface of your concrete floor.

The Perfect Epoxy Floor

Step One: Floor Preparation

1. The first step in preparing your concrete floor for epoxy is grinding the sealant off your current concrete floor to make a clean surface.
   
2. Next, we repair all the cracks and pitting with the use of a two-part material that fills in the cracks and pits and finishes just like concrete.
   
3. Next we vacuum the floor to remove any debris to leave a clean surface.

Step Two: Epoxy Application

1. We mix both parts of the base coat epoxy material and start with the perimeter to ensure a perfect look around the edges. This process can take hours and requires our meticulous care.
   
2. If you have chosen to have a speckled color, we will then apply color chips in the ratio of your choice. This process will take at least an hour make sure that the distribution is even and pleasing.
   
3. Next we scrape all the excess color chips and detail the edging to make a clean perfect look. Then we do a final vacuum to leave a perfectly clean beautiful epoxy coated surface

Step Three: Polyaspartic Top Coat

• Finally, we apply the polyaspartic top coat because it will help your floor resist impacts, discoloration and scratches. We first begin by carefully spreading the coating with a squeegee. Sometimes we will mask off the coated floor as it dries to protect it from dust and airborne debris.

The Perfect Polished Concrete Floor

Step One: Floor Preparation

First we grind down the concrete floor with progressively subtle grits to eventually leave a smooth shiny surface. This process is slow and tedious to do it well. We take our time and make sure to create a perfectly smooth surface.

Step Two: Coating

Next we apply a special top coat with delicate rollers to seal and protect the surface, leaving a beautiful gloss finish.
